What’s the big news? Google defines big as “of considerable size, extent, or intensity.” It then defines news as, “newly received or noteworthy information, especially about recent or important events.” So if we put those two things together: I have considerable noteworthy information to share! Have I dragged this out long enough?

On June 1, I will assume the role as the Director of AACF. This new role will expand my responsibilities within AACF. I will be leading AACF through structural changes while exploring new ministry opportunities for the organization. It is my conviction and desire to develop leaders, not only in title but in lifestyle. That doesn’t change. What will change are the ways AACF supports its staff members and student leaders. I want to provide more resources (financial and human) to support their efforts on the campus. I want to multiply the impact of AACF in college communities. I want God’s name to be glorified; that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Please pray for me as I navigate this new role. Pray that I will wisely lead AACF. Pray that I will patiently discern God’s will for AACF. Pray that I will have a healthy balance between ministry and family life. Kylie and I both have demanding jobs; we can easily expend all of our energy on work and leave little for each other. Pray that my network of support will grow. As I step into this leadership role, I recognize that I need people to help me. I need people to keep me accountable as a minister, as a husband, and as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I need people who process information differently from me. I need people who have different skillsets. I cannot do this alone.

Thank for your prayers and your continued support. Your prayers, words of affirmation, and financial support have helped me embrace God’s calling to accept the Director’s position with AACF. I ask that you continue to pray for me as I take on this noble task.
